Nature
Hot blazing fireball Burning up the azure sheet Energy so great, it pulls the watery sphere It illuminates the dark kingdom of the sea It dominates the creatures of the air and land Cracking the dry desert ground Attacking the skin of man
In my yard, tall trees drop their vivid green and red leaves in the wind Candy floss like fruit dropping from the branches Sugar cane shoots in the surrounding ranches The grasscutter, with its sharp jagged teeth and pot belly, is a Godsend Out of thin air, I see a fuchsia feathered and golden drill- beaked humming bird Flapping its small and delicate jacquard print style wings a million miles per minute It doesn’t do much when it visits my yard; I guess it’s here just to check up on it I wonder if I could grow wings and fly with it but that would be just absurd All alone in my holiday home avoiding the gigantic, river forming raindrops rapping on my roof I stare at my pond and glance at the violet and black dragonfly (they never seize to amaze) In my opinion it is a perfect activity for these hot and humid drag-on days Up above is a rainbow; if someone wants to find out if God exists, this is most definitely the proof
